1モーターは、上下の高さの調整をするタイプと、背もたれと膝の高さ調節が同時に稼働するタイプがあります。背もたれと膝の高さを同時に動かす1モータータイプは、角度の細かい調整が難しいため、要介護度が低い方、足にむくみがあり血流を良くしたい方、寝起きの補助的な役割で電動ベッドを使いたい方に向いています。

2モーターは、背もたれのリクライニングと膝の高さが独立して調整でき、要介護度が低～中・高の方まで幅広く使えます。寝苦しいときに脚を少しだけ上げたり、テレビを見たり食事するために背もたれだけ起こすなど、細かい調整ができる、機能面と価格のバランスが良い電動ベッドといえます。

3モーターは、ベッド自体の昇降、背もたれのリクライニング、膝の高さ調整を独立して操作できるタイプ。ベッドの昇降ができるため、使用者は車椅子やポータブルトイレへ移動がしやすく、介護者は寝起きや食事などのサポートがしやすくなるので、負担の少ない体勢で介護できます。
病院や介護施設で採用されるベッドの多くはこの3モータータイプです。要介護度が高い方、長時間ベッドで過ごす方などに向いています。

介護ベッドとして使うときは要介護度の等級や身体の状態に合わせて、読書やテレビ鑑賞をするときはどの状態が一番リラックスできるかなど、目的や用途に応じて選びましょう。
